Deloitte & Touche (D&T), one of the Big Five professional services firms, is the American branch of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a global leader in professional services with nearly 90,000 employees in over 130 countries. The firm's consulting arm, Deloitte Consulting, ranks as one of the largest consulting practices in the industry, with over 15,000 employees. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu serves nearly one-fifth of the world's largest companies as well as large national enterprises, public institutions and successful fast-growing companies, and Deloitte Consulting counts more than half of the Fortune 100 among its clientele, including Bayer, Boeing, GM and Merrill Lynch to name a few.

New directions

Deloitte has taken an appropriately futuristic approach to its digital consulting business. The new model is a "Mothership/Pod" concept that consists of e-business joint venture spin-offs (Pods) that function independently, but in the orbit of the Mothership (Deloitte Consulting). The first of these Pods is Roundarch, a Deloitte Consulting joint venture with BroadVision and WPP, the advertising agency. Deloitte Consulting also uses relationships with software and systems companies like Oracle, Baan and SAP serve to enhance its services. Deloitte works in all steps of the e-business process, from strategy to IT to HR.
